Volunteers Needed! The festival is a huge undertaking for the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce and would not be possible without the 200 volunteers that offer their time. There is a job for everyone...sell tickets, slice apple pie, help with set up, etc. Grab a friend, co-worker or spouse and spend a few hours at the festival lending a hand. Free parking and shuttle buses to the Apple Harvest Festival are available at 180 & 200 Glastonbury Boulevard (adjacent to Somerset Square). Shuttle buses will transport people to and from the festival grounds approximately every 10 minutes. directions to the festival

Expected Attendance: 30,000 (please leave your pets at home)

Tickets for Admission & Amusement Rides Admission is $3 per person. Children under three feet tall will be admitted for free.  Amusement ride tickets are $1 each; rides require 2 or 3 tickets per ride. Discounted Apple Harvest Festival Family Packs, amusement ride and admission tickets are available at the Chamber office, 2400 Main Street, Glastonbury October 12 - 16, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  

 

Festival Special Features: The Glastonbury Applefest is noted as the best and last of Connecticut's festival season, the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce's 35th Annual Apple Harvest Festival features live music, 150+ craft booths, fabulous food, a pie eating contest, a pie bake-off, amusement rides, pony rides and family entertainment. Attending this family-oriented event has become a tradition for adults, seniors, teenagers, college students and parents with young children living in Glastonbury and surrounding towns in Greater Hartford.

The Craft Fair features more than 130 talented artists, jewelers and craftsmen. Merchandise includes handcrafted jewelry, children's toys, quilts, stained glass, candles and soaps, wreaths, sweaters, glassware, original art work and much more. A wide array of artisans are chosen to offer festival-goers the broadest selection possible.

25 food vendors will satisfy all cravings for fun festival foods such as kettle corn, fried dough, hamburgers and hot dogs, pizza, gyros, calzones, grinders, soup, chili, steak sandwiches, smoothies, and of course, the Chamber's famous apple pie.

The Family Entertainment area will feature pony rides on Saturday afternoon, Airbourne Jugglers on Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and karate demonstrations by 100% Martial Arts on Sunday at 2:00 pm.

The Pie Eating Contest is held on Saturday at noon. Participants should arrive 15-30 minute prior to sign up.

The Apple Pie Baking Contest will be held on Sunday. All bakers should register no later than Wednesday, October 14. Pies must be dropped off on Sunday, between 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. to the tent next to the main stage.

The Apple Harvest Festival 5K Run/Walk Road Race and Kid's Fun Run will be held on Sunday, October 18 and will begin at the Hubbard Green in Glastonbury. Read more!

The
Family Bike Parade for those wishing to ride to the Festival on their bike will take place on Sunday as well and will leave from Town Hall on Main Street at 10:45am.

Merchandise commemorating the 35th Annual Apple Harvest Festival will be sold at the Chamber's apple pie booth located at the front entrance. Festival merchandise includes t-shirts, tote bags and prints of the commemorative poster. Poster photogragher Carrie Draghi will be available on Sunday to sign posters.

The NEW limited edition Apple Harvest Festival Cookbook will also be for sale for $20. This special cookbook chock full of 300 apple recipes makes a wonderful gift for family and friends and a wonderful remembrance of Glastonbury and the festival.
