Business Advocacy

The Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce is involved in government relations on the state level through our affiliation with ERCCA (East of the River Chambers of Commerce).  In 2009, a Government Relations Committee was established comprised of the Executive Directors and two business members from each of the six chambers.  We have contracted the lobbying firm Gara & Markowski, LLC to assist us in organizing our grassroots efforts and monitoring legislation. Our 3500 member businesses receive legislative updates, alerts and calls to action and are encouraged to participate in the legislative process.

Government Relations

The Glastonbury Chamber, as a member of East of the River Chambers of Commerce, contracts a lobbying firm to monitor legislation and assist in grassroots involvement. Depending upon the expertise of Gara & Markowski, LLC, members are surveyed, priorities are identified, positions are determined, legislative updates , alerts and testimonies are prepared and disseminated and members are encouraged to open dialogue with their lawmakers.

ERCCA has a government relations committee comprised of the Executive Directors of the six member Chambers and two business members. Meetings are held monthly to keep abreast of recent legislative or regulatory matters of interest to small business.

To become involved in our government relations activity on the state level, contact the Chamber.
