Event Description: Click here to register online now! 2012 marks the 11th year that the Glastonbury Chamber has hosted a summer road race. The Living Well in Glastonbury 5K is a local favorite because of its flat and fast route through the Addison road neighborhood. Mile markers, water stops, and timing by Hi-Tek Timing Company will be provided. When: August 4, 2012 Where: Smith Middle School 216 Addison Road Glastonbury CT, 06033 Time: 5k starts at 8:00AM Distance: 5k (3.1 Miles) Entry Fee: $25 pre-registered by Thursday, August 2, 2012; $30/day of race. No Refunds will be provided for any reason. Race-day registration will begin at 7:00 am, although pre-registration is strongly recommended. T-Shirts: Free T-shirts will be handed out the morning of the race to the first 150 registered runners. Male & Female Age Groups: Under 14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. All ages are as of race day. Prizes will be awarded immediately following the posting of the race results. Need a little training before the race? Try Hartford Marathon Foundations brand new 'Family Fun Training' program. This 6-week training program is specifically designed for the whole family's participation. This unique program incorporates exercises, walk/run track workouts and good old basic calisthenics. Our coaches will teach good running form while building endurance and strength during each hour session. Adults can join in with the youth group or participate in walk or run workouts on the track. The youth will be grouped according to age in a fun and friendly environment. We'll make this so fun that you will not realize how much exercise you’re getting! All abilities welcome! The training schedule is 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday nights at Glastonbury High School Track. The program runs for 6 weeks (6/25, 7/2, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30). Cost is $10 per child, $15 for 18+ or $25 per family. The goal of our training will be to run or walk the Living Well 5K on 8/4 at 8:00 a.m. Click here to register for the training only.
