The Annual Business Meeting is an opportune way to begin a new year as attendees connect with business owners, company presidents and CEOs and others – it’s the place to meet Glastonbury’s finest. This special evening includes the presentation of the "Business Person of the Year”, the "Ambassador of the Year”, as well as the President’s awards. The evening will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a reception of hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, sit down dinner and ample time to network. The business and awards portion of the meeting will follow from 6:15 - 8:00 p.m. This popular event has sold out the past 3 years.
The highest recognition the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce presents is to the Business Person of the Year, who is nominated by a member and selected by the past recipients of the award. This year our Business Person of the Year is Kevin Flanagan of Flanagan Industries who will be honored on January 29th. The award is presented to an accomplished business person who has started, developed, expanded, or otherwise effectively managed a business. The recipient is a recognized leader dedicated to economic growth in the area and is involved in civic projects helping to improve the quality of life in Glastonbury and neighboring communities.
The Ambassador of the Year Award is also presented annually in recognition of a business person who is a member of the Glastonbury Chamber's Ambassador Committee. Ambassadors assist the Chamber in numerous ways including the recruitment of new members, mentoring current members and promoting Chamber programs by representing the Chamber at official functions and within the community. This award is presented to an Ambassador who has been especially dedicated to helping the Chamber achieve recruitment and retention goals.
A brief overview of 2013 and what’s to come in 2014 will be presented by Chamber President Mary Ellen Dombrowski. The Chamber’s 2014 Board of Directors including outgoing Chair Michael Keenan and incoming Chair David Wood will be introduced and the Apple Harvest Festival Leadership Team will be recognized. This Meeting is open to members and future members, reservations are required.
